‘Tis the most expensive time of the year… your diary is filling up, new whatsapp groups are being created and deposits for Christmas meals are being demanded left, right and centre. That’s right, it’s party season.
If the thought of buying 45 new outfits is enough to send your bank balance into overdrive then fear not, we got a few ideas on how you can spend less, yet still look luxe…
Have a clear out
Firstly, go through your wardrobe, there’s bound to be a classic LBD lurking somewhere. Add a pair of on-trend statement earrings (Mango’s drop earrings are a must this season!) and it will feel bang up to date.
Use the eBay brand filter
Ebay! If you’re prepared to spend an evening sifting the good from the bad, then this is a super rewarding way to shop. Our top tip? Search by brand, you might just stumble over that Topshop Unique gem which sold out in moments, for a fraction of the original price. It’s a win-win.
Red lippie! It’s so simple and has been a woman’s secret weapon for years. A splash of bright red lipstick can punch up any outfit. We love Ruby Woo from MAC.
Focus on the accessories
Can’t afford a brand new head-to-toe outfit? Then focus on sleek accessories. A new pair of sassy shoes or a metallic clutch bag can re-vamp that dress you have had for years.
Keep your eyes peeled for designer sample sales. With sites like Chimi, you can get your hands on high-end designer garments at seriously reduced prices. Or, pay a visit to shopping outlets such as Hackney Walk or Bicester Village. Either way, there’s the potential for a fun day out with the girls. Anyone picturing the scene from the film Confessions of the shopaholic…?
